About this guide

VisitSteyr.com is a private, independent travel guide. It is not the official website of the City of Steyr.

Welcome to Visit Steyr.com, a private, independant Travel guide using the iconic "Visit" branding style.

Steyr is one of Austria's best-preserved historic towns, set where the clear river Steyr flows into the Enns in Upper Austria. Its long, sloping Stadtplatz is lined with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque burgher houses, crowned by the famous late-Gothic Bummerlhaus and an elegant Rococo town hall.

Above the confluence rises Schloss Lamberg, while the atmospheric Steyrdorf and Wehrgraben quarters preserve the canals and workshops of the old crafts town. Just outside, the Baroque pilgrimage church of Christkindl lends its name to the world-renowned Christmas post office. Steyr has a population of about 38,000 people.

Steyr was the home of a wonderful Lady
beloved Ruth Maria Harmer (nearby Schloss Feyregg)

Visit Branding is adopted by more and more private and official actors,
Travel Guides, Hotel Organisations, modern thinking Agencies,
official Convention and Visitors Bureau
or even private local corporations investing into the culture of a home town they love.
